WRF Adult Residential Homes
A Mother's Dream...a safe place to live, a highly trained staff and the soul of a home.
The Foundation started with one Adult Residential Facility, 6 clients, and a dedicated staff of professional and parents. The level of excellence, innovation and warm surroundings provided the canvass for remarkable personal growth of the clients at Damaris House, located in Woodland Hills, Ca.
As any parent of a special needs child knows, the burning, gnawing concerns are never far away..."What will happen when I'm gone..." "Is he safe? Will he be cared for? Will his needs be anticipated?* It was these questions that provided the spark for the Willie Ross Foundation. Bobby Ross had to make sure that Willie would always be cared for and given every opportunity to lead a rewarding fulfilled life. A team was assembled, and after long hours and incalculable hurdles, the Foundation was launched in 1982 with one home.

A day in a life...
The Foundation has two adult residential facilities. Damaris House and Barbara House. One is located in Woodland Hills and the other is located in West Hills. Both homes houses individuals, who are dual diagnosed with a developmental disability and deafness. The daily schedule includes chore responsibilities, meal preparations, and outings.
The homes "belong" to the residents, where staff serves as a support group for our residents. Programs are developed to teach clients to be as independent as possible...in meal planning, food shopping and meal preparation. Staff provides an array of activities for the residents to choose from.
Although, the residents participate in some activities outside the home during the weeknights, most of the activities occur during the weekends. Activities includes going to the movies, the mall, the beach, the park, visiting the Foundation Equestrian program, and other activities the community has to offer.

Medical & Case Management
Clients of the WRF receive excellent medical and dental care in a timely manner. Since our clients are non-verbal, the staff is trained to recognize any medical issues and are also trained and licensed in medication distribution.
